ABBF stands for Auckland Blood Bowl Federation and is Auckland's premier Blood Bowl league. Although mainly based in Auckland, we maintain a wider network of coaches from all around New Zealand and even Australia and Europe.
The ABBF is currently run by League Commissioners Christian Schwager, Greg Hagg & Dan Norman with the support and assitance of many others.

When and where do we play?

ABBF Blood Bowl is being played every Monday from 5.00pm at the Manor House Bar & Brasserie.
The address is 465 Gt North Rd, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Check Google Maps for directions.

Everyone is welcome and we are more than happy to give people who are interested a demonstration of the game. Just pop in and say hi.

On Sundays we also can be found playing Blood Bowl at the Auckland City Guard and East Auckland Elites wargaming clubs. In addition, matches can also be arranged outside of club times and locations, as long as the results are reported to us via email.

ABBF History

The ABBF first came into existence in 2002. Back then it was called the ACGBBL (Auckland City Guard Blood Bowl League), after the club we played at.

The Winter Championship 2502 (2002) proved a huge success and quite a number of coaches were very keen to continue playing in an on-going league. And so we did...

Over the course of the years there were several resets, to get everyone on an even footing again, but also because of rules changes and one very important new feature that was added to the website in 2004... The magnificent Blood Bowl Web Manager.

And so the ACGBBL changed into the ABBF and kept going strong for another two years, until a sudden drop in interest and player availability threatened to put an end to it all. Thanks to a few passionte individuals, however, that was not to be the case. Those brave few just kept on playing.

With the change to LRB 5.0 in 2006, the Blood Bowl Web Manager is now in need of a comlete re-design. A task which we hope to tackle within the year. So for the time being, we got out the trusty old Excel sheet again and started to give the new rules a good run down. So far they prove to be a whole lot of fun!

Most recently we also managed to secure a great new location to host our games and tournaments at. So now we will set out to restore the ABBF to its former glory.
